A law firm seeks an experienced Pre-Litigation Attorney to join its team in Southfield, MI. Duties

  • Ensure strict adherence to established processes and procedures for handling pre-litigation cases.
  • Oversee a docket of pre-litigation personal injury files to ensure timely progress and resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed about the status of their cases.
  • Develop strategies for optimal case resolutions and implement those strategies effectively.
  • Assess and determine appropriate value ranges for claims.
  • Engage in client meetings and facilitate ongoing communication.
  • Negotiate pre-litigation settlements with insurance companies and other involved parties.
  • Review and finalize settlement releases and handle medical and other liens.
  • Provide daily oversight and guidance to the paralegal team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an attorney, preferably with a focus on personal injury law.
  • Familiarity with Michigan 1st and 3rd party auto law is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in team management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan.
