Duties

• Advise clients on immigration matters, offering strategic solutions to complex issues.
• Represent clients in immigration court, including both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings, before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage an active caseload, including client interactions and case progress.
• Conduct client intake interviews at detention centers when necessary.
• Prepare and review a variety of immigration applications, such as removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecution offices, and community organizations on legal reforms and immigration law updates.
• Provide strategic consultations to potential clients and devise effective legal strategies.
• Develop and prepare clients and witnesses for court proceedings and USCIS testimony.
• Prepare legal briefs and documentation for diverse immigration cases.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Proven experience managing a caseload and moving cases forward efficiently.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
• Experience in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Applications, EOIR, Legal Writing, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and USCIS applications is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active and valid license to practice law in California.

Certifications

• Admission to the California State Bar.
