Duties

  • Attend motion hearings, providing client updates and advice on optimal strategies following each session.
  • Manage criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing hearings, in support of other attorneys.
  • Prepare and file motions, engage in client interviews, and conduct in-depth legal research.
  • Analyze case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents and develop tailored legal strategies.
  • Maintain an organized caseload, ensuring deadlines and case progress are managed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants and other attorneys in a team-oriented environment to support case management.

Requirements

  • Experience in criminal defense, immigration law, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of state and local criminal cases, including motions for post-conviction relief.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload with attention to detail and timely resolution.
  • Team-oriented with an eagerness to collaborate and strategize with colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive client relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications
