Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled litigation attorney to join their team in Wilmington, Delaware. This position is ideal for an attorney with litigation experience, especially in professional malpractice, medical malpractice, or employment law. The role provides an opportunity for exposure to diverse areas of litigation in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.

Duties

• Represent clients throughout all phases of litigation, from case initiation to expert discovery, with a focus on professional malpractice and employment claims.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft key legal documents such as discovery requests, motions, settlement agreements, affidavits, legal memoranda, and pleadings.
• Review discovery responses, and deposition transcripts, and prepare case summaries and progress reports.
• Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to settle claims efficiently.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide legal analysis, updates on case progress, and strategic guidance.

Requirements

• Must be admitted to practice law in Delaware.
• Litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice, professional liability, or employment litigation.
• Strong writing and organizational abilities, with an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with LexisNexis software is required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• An active Delaware Bar license is required.
