A law firm is seeking a qualified Tech Transactions and Data Privacy (Incident Response) Associate Attorney to join their Washington, DC office. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of litigation, including case work-up, trial preparation, and trial support.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft a variety of legal documents such as briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
  • Provide practical advice to clients on privacy-related matters, including federal, state, and international privacy laws.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients on sophisticated legal issues, offering strategic guidance and solutions.
  • Participate in incident response management, ensuring compliance with relevant data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Handle discovery processes and manage interactions with opposing counsel.
  • Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, and other trial-related proceedings.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest legal trends and developments in tech transactions and data privacy.

Requirements:

  • Significant litigation experience, particularly in privacy litigation, including case work-up and trial preparation.
  • Proven legal research and writing skills, with experience in drafting legal documents such as briefs, motions, and complaints.
  • Knowledge of and experience with federal, state, and international privacy laws is highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to offer practical, actionable legal advice to clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in the District of Columbia or eligibility to waive in.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in a law firm or a similar professional environment.
  • Prior experience in privacy litigation and handling tech transactions.
  • Superior writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with incident response and data privacy compliance matters.
