Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Foreclosure Attorney to oversee and manage all aspects of non-judicial foreclosure processes, litigation, and title clearance matters. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, knowledge of creditors' rights, and the ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently. Duties

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of the non-judicial foreclosure process, from case referral to property sale.

  • Handle routine and complex litigation related to foreclosure and replevin matters.

  • Manage pre-litigation cases, ensuring title clearance and compliance with applicable laws.

  • Draft legal pleadings, motions, and other court documents.

  • Provide strategic legal analysis and counsel to clients on foreclosure-related issues.

  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal foreclosure regulations.

  • Perform additional legal tasks as required to support the firm’s foreclosure practice.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • An active member of the Mississippi State Bar, maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.

Skills

  • Experience with Mississippi creditors’ rights, real estate law, or mortgage servicing preferred.

  • Familiarity with foreclosure and replevin processes and legal requirements.

  • Understanding of rules of evidence and procedures for introducing evidence in court.

  • Knowledge of consumer protection statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is preferred.

  • Ability to handle a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
