Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance and Restructuring Litigation Associate to join its Native American law practice. This position provides the opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal matters related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. The successful candidate will also have the chance to work on challenging commercial and construction disputes, offering a diverse and impactful litigation experience.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in Native American law matters, focusing on issues related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Handle complex commercial and construction litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research and offer strategic advice on complex legal issues.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Manage cases from initiation to resolution, including settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies.
  • Maintain and foster strong client relationships, providing proactive legal counsel.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in litigation, with a strong interest in Federal Indian Law.
  • Strong background in litigation and administrative law.
  • Experience with trial preparation, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Proficient in litigation and trial preparation.
  • Knowledge or significant interest in Federal Indian Law.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently and work under pressure.
