A law firm seeks a mid-level leveraged finance associate to join its team, which focuses on supporting both lender and borrower practices. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in leveraged buyout financing. Strong academic qualifications, substantial experience in a large law firm, and exceptional analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills are essential.

Duties

  • Assist in structuring and negotiating leveraged finance transactions, particularly those involving buyouts and acquisitions.
  • Provide comprehensive support for both lender and borrower-side practices within the finance team.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence and thorough analysis of financing agreements and related documentation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate critical legal documents, including loan agreements and credit facilities.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to create effective financing strategies.
  • Stay informed about current market trends and legal developments relevant to leveraged finance.

Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant experience in leveraged finance or a similar field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance is highly preferred.

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to practice law in CA.
