  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other case-related documents.
  • Advise and collaborate with clients, ensuring clarity and transparency throughout the legal process.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
  • Support or spearhead efforts to expand the firm’s litigation practice, particularly in insurance defense.
  • Foster and manage client relationships, including contributing to the firm’s business development initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in insurance defense litigation, with exposure to other areas of civil litigation a plus.
  • Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Active membership and good standing with the West Virginia State Bar.
  • Portable Business:
    • For partner-level candidates: A demonstrated ability to bring or develop a book of business is required.
    • For associate-level candidates: A strong professional network and willingness to contribute to client development efforts are preferred.
