Job Overview:

A law firm based in Washington, DC, seeks a highly motivated Junior to Mid-Level Trademark Attorney with 2-4 years of solid experience in trademark prosecution, counseling, and litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in preparing trademark clearance opinions, managing domestic and global trademark portfolios, and handling TTAB matters. Exceptional writing skills are crucial for this role.

Duties:

  • Prepare and file trademark applications and manage the prosecution process.
  • Conduct trademark clearance searches and prepare detailed opinions.
  • Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios, including renewals and maintenance.
  • Handle trademark disputes, including oppositions and cancellations, before the TTAB.
  • Provide legal counsel on trademark strategy, including brand protection and enforcement.
  • Draft and negotiate trademark-related agreements, such as licensing and co-existence agreements.
  • Stay updated on changes in trademark law and practice.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in trademark prosecution, counseling, and litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing trademark clearance opinions.
  • Proven track record in managing domestic and global trademark portfolios.
  • Experience with TTAB matters and proceedings.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or willingness to sit for the DC Bar exam.
