Litigation Attorney

Job Title: Litigation Attorney (Los Angeles, CA)

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will play an integral role in representing local governments throughout litigation processes while contributing to the firm’s commitment to high-quality legal service.

Duties:

• Manage cases from initiation to resolution, including strategy development, discovery, trial preparation, and trial.
• Handle law and motion practice at both the trial and appellate levels, including oral arguments.
• Provide timely legal counsel to city staff and government officials as requested.
• Represent local government clients at city council meetings and other public meetings.
• Engage in community outreach and educational activities related to state and local laws.
• Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes effectively.
• Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.

Requirements:

• A valid and current California Bar membership.
• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in municipal law or related areas.
• Proven litigation experience with a strong focus on public law.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Experience representing local governments in state and federal courts.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership with the State Bar of California.
