Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Fidelity and Commercial Practice Group in Nashville, Tennessee. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial litigation and related legal areas, working on cases involving fraud prevention, electronic transactions, and financial liabilities under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). Duties:

  • Legal Case Management:

    • Assist senior attorneys with cases involving fraudulent checks, social engineering schemes, wire transfer disputes, and related financial matters.
    • Handle legal issues tied to liabilities under Articles 3, 4, and 4A of the UCC and other relevant legal frameworks.
  • Litigation Support:

    • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of cases in state and federal courts.
    • Draft, review, and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings.
    • Conduct legal research and provide detailed analyses to support case strategies.
  • Client Interaction:

    • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and legal concerns.
    • Offer tailored advice and solutions to address specific client challenges.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with partners and other team members to ensure comprehensive case preparation.
    • Participate in team discussions to share insights and develop case strategies.

Requirements:

  • 1–5 years of experience in commercial litigation or related fields.
  • Familiarity with legal matters governed by the UCC and financial liability regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Graduation from a top 75 law school is preferred.
  • Ranked in the top third of the graduating class.

Certifications:

  • Active Tennessee law license or eligibility for admission by reciprocity is strongly preferred.
