Senior Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team in Sacramento, CA. Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel on immigration matters and present strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely progression and client satisfaction.
• Conduct intakes and legal consultations with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and submit a wide range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and revise immigration documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration law developments.
• Meet with potential clients to assess their immigration needs and devise personalized legal strategies.
• Develop case strategies, and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews.
• Analyze legal options for clients to identify any potential benefits or risks.
• Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and other necessary documents related to immigration cases.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Proven ability to manage a diverse and complex caseload.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
• Fluency in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure and deliver quality work within deadlines.
• Strong understanding of Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS filings.
• Experience using case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in California.
