Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a Privacy and Data Security Associate Attorney to join its team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in managing privacy and data security risks associated with collecting, using, and disclosing personal information. This position requires significant knowledge and experience advising on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws. Strong academic credentials, analytical skills, and communication abilities are essential. An active CO, MN, NY, or PA license is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on privacy and data security risks associated with collecting, using, and disclosing personal information.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws.
  • Develop and implement privacy and data security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct privacy and data security assessments and audits.
  • Assist clients with data breach response and mitigation strategies.
  • Guide on the legal implications of emerging technologies and data practices.
  • Draft and review privacy policies, notices, and data protection agreements.
  • Represent clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on privacy and data security matters.
  • Stay current with evolving privacy and data protection laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience managing privacy and data security risks.
  • Significant knowledge of federal, state, and international privacy and data protection laws.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Active CO, MN, NY, or PA license is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or other relevant privacy certifications are a plus.
