Job Overview:

A well-established law firm in Bellaire, TX is looking for an experienced litigation attorney with first-chair trial experience. As part of the firm, you will lead client interactions, manage cases, and collaborate with a dedicated team of legal professionals.

Duties:

  • Evaluate and assess potential legal cases
  • Develop case strategies and manage litigation processes
  • Draft and respond to legal complaints, motions, discovery, and other necessary documents
  • Take and defend depositions, including expert witness depositions
  • Represent clients at hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trials
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients
  • Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and staff to coordinate case efforts
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve cases effectively
  • Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations
  • Maintain detailed documentation of legal actions and communication through firm software

Requirements:

  • Significant first-chair trial experience
  • Active, good-standing membership with the Texas State Bar
  • Texas Bar License
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with clients and team members
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with legal software (experience with Needles Neos is a plus)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Texas Bar License (Active)
  • Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law (preferred)

Skills:

  • Advanced litigation and trial skills
