Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a skilled Residential Real Estate Attorney Associate to join its team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in residential real estate law, including title review, contract revisions, refinancing and purchase closings, and managing relationships with lenders, realtors, and clients. Location:

  • Stamford, Connecticut

Duties:

  • Review and conduct title rundowns, document reviews, and recording of deeds and other documents.
  • Review, draft, and revise contracts related to residential real estate transactions.
  • Handle refinance and purchase closings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with lenders, realtors, and clients.
  • Travel to real estate closings throughout Connecticut, including evenings and occasional Saturdays.
  • Use industry-specific software to manage cases and transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws and regulations during all transactions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential real estate law.
  • Experience with title review, contract revisions, refinancing, and purchase closings.
  • Strong knowledge of lender, realtor, and client relations in a real estate context.
  • Ability to travel to various locations in Connecticut, including evening and weekend closings.
  • In good standing with the Connecticut Bar.
  • Active Connecticut Notary commission.
  • Reliable transportation for traveling to closing locations.
  • Bar membership and/or Notary commission in neighboring states is a plus, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar.
  • Current Connecticut Notary commission.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of residential real estate transactions and the legal aspects involved.
  • Proficient in title examination and document recording.
  • Excellent contract drafting and revision skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client, lender, and realtor relations.
  • Familiarity with industry software used in residential real estate transactions.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
