Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Attorney with a strong interest in trial work and helping individual clients with their divorce, custody, and family law matters. Job Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, and other related issues.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in family law and relevant case law.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage mediation processes.
  • Present cases in court, including examining and cross-examining witnesses.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and other staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and handle cases with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Attend court hearings and trials as required.
  • Participate in firm meetings and contribute to the overall growth and success of the firm.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar and in good standing.
  • Experience in family law (preferred).
  • Proven trial experience and strong litigation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to client representation.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
