Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel and representation for clients in removal defense proceedings.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to formulate case-specific strategies.
• Prepare and file petitions, legal documents, and appeals with immigration courts and agencies.
• Represent clients at hearings, interviews, and proceedings in immigration court.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, updating them on case progress and offering guidance.
• Supervise paralegals to ensure case deadlines are met and manage caseloads efficiently.
• Stay current with developments in immigration law and policies to effectively advocate for clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LL.M. from an accredited law school.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in immigration law, focusing on removal defense.
• Expertise in handling asylum cases, cancellation of removal, VAWA, waivers, BIA appeals, and petitions for review.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with clients and staff effectively.
• Capacity to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• JD or LL.M. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York Bar admission preferred.
