Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking experienced Litigation Attorneys for multiple positions in their Manhattan and Westchester County offices. The firm specializes in insurance defense litigation, representing clients in matters including professional liability and labor and employment law. Ideal candidates will possess strong litigation experience and knowledge of federal and state civil procedure rules.

Duties:

• Represent clients throughout all phases of litigation, from initiation to expert discovery.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft legal documents, including discovery requests, motions, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses and depositions; prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Maintain close communication with clients to provide legal analysis, status updates, and advice.

Requirements:

• New York litigation experience.
• Must be barred in New York.
• Proven experience in drafting discovery documents, leading depositions, and arguing motions.
• Excellent writing and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar License in New York.

Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in Lexis software.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
