Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Securities Associate or Of Counsel to join its Investment Funds Group. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience managing structured securities offerings, particularly in the realm of commercial real estate law. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, and complex transactions involving institutional investors, REITs, and financial investors. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The position offers flexibility with multiple office locations across the U.S.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Manage structured securities offerings with a focus on real estate finance.
  • Provide legal counsel on acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and complex financings in commercial real estate.
  • Represent clients including real estate companies, REITs, institutional investors, and financial entities.
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of legal documents for commercial real estate transactions.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, identifying opportunities for business development.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and client expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in structured securities offerings.
  • Experience in commercial real estate law, particularly in finance, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Strong track record of handling complex legal transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks.
  • Experience in a top-tier law firm, such as an AmLaw 100 firm, is preferred.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which the position is located.
