Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Investment Funds practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile matters, including the formation of and investments in private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds. The role requires expertise in structuring separately managed accounts, secondary transactions, and carry vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of relevant experience with a strong academic background and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple office locations.

Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Advise clients on the formation and investments in private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds.
  • Assist with secondary transactions and structuring carry vehicles.
  • Provide counsel on structuring separately managed accounts.
  • Draft and review investment-related documents.
  • Collaborate with clients and senior attorneys to design strategic legal solutions.
  • Manage client relationships and provide timely updates.
  • Participate in business development activities, including client meetings and presentations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment funds law.
  • Strong background in the formation and investment of private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds.
  • Experience with secondary transactions, structuring separately managed accounts, and structuring carry vehicles is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an AmLaw 100 firm is preferred.
  • Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction where the position is located.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the jurisdiction of employment.

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal matters.
  • Good business judgment and organizational skills.
