Practice Areas Employment Law - Litigation Employer Defense
A law firm in Long Beach, CA, is seeking one or two skilled Associate Attorneys to expand its Labor & Employment defense team. This is a prime opportunity for legal professionals with 1 to 6 years of experience who are eager to handle a diverse caseload and play an active role in managing employment-related disputes. The firm is looking for attorneys who are proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering strategic legal solutions to employers facing workplace challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination claims, workplace harassment cases, and discrimination matters
Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents in state and federal courts
Take depositions, conduct witness interviews, and prepare clients for legal proceedings
Provide day-to-day legal counsel on compliance with labor laws, workplace policies, employee relations, and risk management strategies
Advocate for clients in mediation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings before regulatory agencies
Work closely with partners and senior attorneys to develop and execute litigation strategies
Manage multiple cases efficiently, ensuring timely and effective resolution of disputes
Qualifications & Requirements:
1 to 6 years of experience in employment law and litigation defense
Familiarity with California labor and employment laws, federal workplace regulations, and court procedures
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to manage cases independently and collaborate effectively within a legal team
Active license to practice law in California and be in good standing with the State Bar
Education & Certifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
California Bar Admission (required)
