Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel on ERISA and employee benefits matters, including qualified plans, multiemployer plans, and health and welfare plans.
  • Advise clients on compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and other relevant regulations.
  • Represent clients in mergers and acquisitions, ensuring that employee benefits issues are effectively addressed and integrated.
  • Handle employee benefits matters in corporate restructuring, including due diligence, analysis, and implementation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employee benefit plans and executive compensation documents.
  • Collaborate with clients to design, implement, and maintain employee benefits programs that align with business objectives.
  • Provide strategic advice on regulatory changes impacting employee benefits and retirement plans.
  • Conduct employee benefits audits and risk assessments to ensure federal and state laws compliance.
  • Manage client relationships, providing timely and responsive legal advice on employee benefits issues.
  • Work closely with other practice areas within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in ERISA and employee benefits law.
  • Significant experience in M&A and restructuring within the employee benefits practice area.
  • Strong knowledge of qualified, multi-employer, and health and welfare plans.
  • In-depth understanding of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience with drafting and negotiating employee benefits-related agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and complex projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or ability to obtain admission promptly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:
