Job Overview: A law firm in San Diego, CA, seeks a Mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, particularly in product liability and complex commercial litigation, with experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. This role requires excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates as needed.
  • Collaborate with experts and witnesses in case development.
  • Assist in fact development and conduct depositions.
  • Review, draft, and respond to discovery requests, briefs, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Contribute to case strategy formulation and implementation.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in California.
  • 3 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Experience in product liability and complex commercial litigation.
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Good business judgment and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proven research, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and effectively persuade.

Education and Certifications:

  • JD degree from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently.
  • Management and mentoring capabilities for junior associates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
