Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Associate Attorney with 0-2 years of experience to join its family law team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, working alongside experienced attorneys and support staff in a collaborative and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine desire to help families navigate complex legal issues with care and professionalism.

Location:

  • San Diego, CA

Duties:

  • Assist in managing family law cases, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and property division
  • Draft and review legal documents, such as petitions, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and depositions as necessary
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on family law matters
  • Work with experienced attorneys to develop case strategies and achieve positive outcomes
  • Manage a caseload and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuing legal education

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of experience in family law (newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply)
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for family law
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases with attention to detail
  • Compassionate and client-focused approach to legal matters
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California (or pending licensure)

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents
