Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm based in Orange, CA is seeking an experienced Associate Immigration Attorney to join a dynamic legal team. This role involves managing a caseload, providing strategic legal counsel, and representing clients in various immigration matters. The ideal candidate will collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to deliver exceptional service and legal expertise.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases
  • Conduct intake and visits with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare and submit diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review immigration application packets and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law updates
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to determine case direction
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to assess case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with fellow associates
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing and progressing legal cases
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active Bar license in any state in the U.S.

Certifications:

  • Licensed attorney in good standing with any U.S. state bar association

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational capabilities
