The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cases, analyzing defense strategies, evaluating exposure, and overseeing settlement negotiations. This position offers the opportunity to work with senior lawyers and paralegals in a collaborative environment while handling a variety of complex cases.

Duties

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients in the insurance defense sector.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, ensuring their interests are effectively advocated.
  • Meet with clients and involved individuals to provide updates and clarification on legal matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key personnel within client organizations.
  • Handle the full litigation process, from evaluating case exposure to settlement negotiations.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare legal documents and manage case documentation.
  • Provide monthly litigation reports to clients and senior management.
  • Collaborate with senior lawyers and paralegals in managing cases.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or related practice areas.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Georgia (Georgia Bar).
  • Experience with litigation, torts, motion practice, civil procedure, and complex litigation.
  • Strong ability to analyze legal issues and propose defense strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Georgia State Bar.
