Public Finance Attorney

A law firm seeks an attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join its Public Finance Practice Group in Philadelphia. This role is ideal for a candidate with experience in municipal finance, tax, and securities law. The position requires collaboration with governmental entities, underwriters, and banks on various public finance transactions. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, and have a strong desire to assume increasing responsibilities in a dynamic practice.

Duties:

• Work on municipal finance transactions, collaborating with government entities, underwriters, and financial institutions.
• Provide legal counsel regarding tax and securities law as it applies to public finance.
• Draft and review documents related to public finance transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist in structuring, negotiating, and documenting public finance deals.
• Take on significant responsibility for client interaction and transaction management.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to facilitate the progression of finance deals.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant public finance issues.
• Handle multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in municipal finance, tax law, and securities law.
• Practical experience working with government entities, underwriters, and financial institutions on public finance transactions.
• Strong academic background with proven oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and work independently within a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
• A proactive attitude and a desire to take on increasing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in the relevant state (Pennsylvania preferred).

• Familiarity with municipal finance transactions and regulatory frameworks.
• Solid understanding of tax and securities law as it relates to public finance.
