A law firm seeks an attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join its Public Finance Practice Group in Philadelphia. This role is ideal for a candidate with experience in municipal finance, tax, and securities law. The position requires collaboration with governmental entities, underwriters, and banks on various public finance transactions. Duties:

  • Work on municipal finance transactions, collaborating with government entities, underwriters, and financial institutions.
  • Provide legal counsel regarding tax and securities law as it applies to public finance.
  • Draft and review documents related to public finance transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist in structuring, negotiating, and documenting public finance deals.
  • Take on significant responsibility for client interaction and transaction management.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to facilitate the progression of finance deals.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant public finance issues.
  • Handle multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in municipal finance, tax law, and securities law.
  • Practical experience working with government entities, underwriters, and financial institutions on public finance transactions.
  • Strong academic background with proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and work independently within a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
  • A proactive attitude and a desire to take on increasing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant state (Pennsylvania preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with municipal finance transactions and regulatory frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of tax and securities law as it relates to public finance.
