Entry-Level Immigration Attorney

A law firm is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney for their Los Angeles, CA office.

Job Overview:

The Entry-Level Immigration Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation in immigration matters. They will work closely with the Senior Associate Attorney and collaborate with the Immigration Team to manage caseloads and client interactions effectively.

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage workload of cases efficiently.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at centers.
• Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
• Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
• Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients to determine necessary legal strategies.
• Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis for clients to determine potential case benefits.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of Immigration Law Experience.
• Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California.

• Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
