Workers' Compensation Attorney

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its dedicated Workers' Compensation practice in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in New York Workers' Compensation law, capable of handling a significant caseload, and possess excellent communication skills. This position involves representing clients in various stages of compensation claims, including appeals and in-court proceedings, with a focus on compassionate client service.

Location

Duties

• Manage a substantial caseload in Workers' Compensation law
• Travel as needed between boroughs for case-related activities
• Conduct opening and closing arguments, direct and cross-examinations, and handle all facets of case preparation
• File appeals, rebuttals, and summations as required for cases
• Ensure thorough familiarity with each case record

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Workers' Compensation law (preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with empathy for clients in challenging circumstances
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently with a positive attitude and willingness to take on significant responsibility
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Fluency in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, or Creole is a plus

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Bar license in New York (Required)
