Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Attorney to provide legal counsel on labor and employment matters. The role involves handling litigation, advising clients on employment-related issues, drafting agreements, and supporting corporate transactions. This position offers a hybrid work environment in Dallas, TX, and Austin, TX, with a combination of in-office and remote flexibility.

Duties

  • Manage litigation related to employment law, including class actions and individual lawsuits.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.

  • Advise clients on labor and employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, retaliation, and employee classification.

  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and other contractual documents.

  • Counsel clients on workplace policies, employee training, compensation structures, and compliance with state and federal employment regulations.

  • Handle employment-related due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

  • Represent clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies.

  • Provide guidance on issues related to restrictive covenants, employee mobility, and workplace accommodations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, anti-discrimination statutes, and compliance obligations.

  • Experience defending class and collective actions.

  • Ability to provide strategic day-to-day legal counsel to clients.

  • Familiarity with employment aspects of corporate transactions.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
