Job Overview:
A boutique law firm specializing in public sector management-side labor and employment law as well as education law is seeking an Associate Attorney with at least 1 year of experience to join their Columbus, OH office. The ideal candidate will have related experience and/or a demonstrated interest in these areas, along with a strong academic record and excellent written and verbal advocacy skills. Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment law matters, particularly within the public sector.
  • Handle education law cases, providing legal counsel to educational institutions.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare pleadings, motions, and other court submissions.
  • Assist in litigation preparation, including case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Provide legal guidance to clients regarding compliance with labor, employment, and education laws.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and strategic advice.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other legal professionals on various cases and projects.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in litigation, with a focus on labor and employment law or education law.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A demonstrated interest in public sector labor and employment law or education law is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio (Ohio State Bar membership).
