Litigation Attorney (Lemon Law/Consumer Protection)

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to handle Lemon Law and consumer protection cases under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload, leading paralegals and legal assistants, and driving cases toward settlement or trial preparation. Duties

• Manage a caseload of Lemon Law and consumer protection cases under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.
• Lead and supervise paralegals and legal assistants to achieve firm objectives and maintain efficient case progression.
• Represent clients in court or before government agencies, advocating on their behalf in motions, hearings, and depositions.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Advise clients on legal strategies, business transactions, and potential settlements or litigation.
• Negotiate settlements to resolve legal disputes favorably for clients.
• Collaborate with the team and contribute to the firm’s growth through case management and client relationships.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in Lemon Law or consumer protection.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear legal documents and represent clients effectively.
• Ability to manage and lead a team, including paralegals and legal assistants.
• Some knowledge or experience with automotive mechanics, electronics, and technology is preferred but not required.
• Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar (required).
• Additional certifications or experience in consumer protection or automotive law are a plus.

Skills

• Litigation experience, especially in Lemon Law or consumer protection, is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective time management and the ability to juggle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Proficiency in case management software and legal research tools.
• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments.
