Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. The attorney will work under the guidance of the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, managing a caseload, advising clients on legal matters, and collaborating with a supportive team of legal professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of criminal defense matters, handling client interactions and case management.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and provide guidance on case strategies.
• Attend pretrial hearings and court appearances on behalf of clients.
• Draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings necessary for case proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law to assess probable case outcomes.
• Interview witnesses, gather evidence, and prepare clients for depositions.
• Provide legal analysis to identify potential case benefits or arguments against prosecution charges.
• Collaborate with criminal defense team members, including attorneys and legal assistants.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in criminal defense law through relevant coursework, clinics, internships, or volunteer experiences.
• Utilize case management software to organize and maintain case files effectively.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar admission in Nevada; law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred to effectively communicate with clients and witnesses.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with case management software is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
