The ideal candidate will possess strong writing, research, and litigation skills, with experience handling workers’ compensation claims. This role involves comprehensive case management, including legal research, client representation, and trial preparation. Duties:

  • Conduct thorough file reviews and legal analysis of workers’ compensation claims.
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft a variety of legal documents, including client correspondence, discovery requests, summaries, appeals, and appellate briefs.
  • Represent clients regularly at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, including formulating case strategies and presenting evidence.
  • Manage expert witness retention and evaluation as needed.
  • Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.
  • Respond promptly to client and colleague communications via email and phone.
  • Demonstrate excellent client interaction skills and maintain a professional telephone manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team and manage caseloads independently.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Pennsylvania; admission in additional states is a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong research capabilities and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases and meet billable hour requirements.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage while working effectively in a team environment.

Education:

Certifications:
