Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in The Woodlands, TX, specializing in estate planning and business transactions, is looking to add a skilled Estate Planning Attorney to its growing team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced attorney to engage directly with clients, advising on complex estate planning matters. The ideal candidate will have the ability to contribute to the firm’s expansion, both in terms of client relationships and business development, while being part of a collaborative and dynamic team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding estate planning services, including preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other advanced estate planning documents (e.g., A/B GST, ILIT, IDGT, SLAT, etc.)
  • Counsel clients on estate planning strategies, asset protection, and wealth transfer
  • Prepare and oversee the execution of probate documents, and attend non-contested probate hearings
  • Handle various aspects of estate funding and guide probate proceedings
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver business and tax planning solutions to clients
  • Engage in business development activities, including presenting at events, writing white papers, and marketing estate planning services
  • Demonstrate initiative and maintain a high level of service to ensure timely and quality work for clients

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active and in good standing with the Texas Bar (or ability to gain admission to the Texas Bar within a reasonable time)
  • 3-5 years of experience in estate planning, including knowledge of advanced estate planning concepts and documents
  • Proven track record in client relations, managing multiple cases, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to explain complex legal matters to clients
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and staff

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (or ability to be admitted in Texas)

Skills:

  • Estate planning expertise, including wills, trusts, and asset protection strategies
