Job Overview:

Location:

  • Manassas, VA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court for legal cases related to family law, including custody and divorce proceedings
  • Maintain a steady schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences
  • Attend trials and court proceedings as needed
  • Manage legal issues between family members, providing guidance and legal counsel
  • Advise and mentor staff on legal matters
  • Supervise and facilitate mediation sessions
  • Prepare and organize all necessary legal documentation for case filings
  • Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases
  • Collaborate with the SIJS department, managing both family law and immigration law components of cases
  • Attend SIJS hearings in various Maryland courts

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Maryland custody and divorce cases
  • Knowledge of Maryland family law statutes, procedures, and case law
  • At least three years of related law/legal experience
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Strong academic record and proven legal expertise
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland
