A law firm seeks an experienced Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Associate Attorney to join its Los Angeles office. This role involves advising and representing clients on a variety of labor and employment law issues, including federal and state compliance, litigation, and risk mitigation. Ideal candidates will have deep expertise in employment law and litigation.

Duties

  • Advise clients on workplace law issues, including wage and hour compliance, employee relations, risk management, and ADA accommodations.
  • Handle all stages of litigation, from interviewing witnesses and reviewing electronic documents to drafting pleadings and attending court appearances.
  • Draft, conduct, and defend depositions and engage in negotiations with opposing counsel.
  • Provide legal support on employment policies, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and workforce management strategies.
  • Work directly with clients to ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws (e.g., FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII, ADEA, and related state laws).

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including those related to wage and hour compliance, employee rights, and accommodations.
  • Proven litigation skills, with experience in drafting, deposition handling, and court appearances.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in California (required).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and client-relations skills, with an emphasis on clear, strategic guidance.
