Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a motivated attorney with expertise in construction litigation to join its dynamic team in Jacksonville, FL. This position is available at both the Associate and non-equity Partner levels, offering an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, manage a diverse caseload, and mentor junior attorneys. The successful candidate will handle various litigation tasks, including legal research, drafting, trial preparation, and representing clients in court. The role involves hybrid work with an expectation to work from the firm’s Jacksonville office as needed.

Duties:

  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to prepare for hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients and negotiate on their behalf.
  • Represent clients in court, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to manage cases efficiently.
  • Oversee and mentor associate attorneys, ensuring high-quality legal work and case management.
  • Assist in the development of new client relationships and maintain existing ones.
  • Analyze legal conflicts and provide advice to clients on potential solutions.
  • Prepare clients and experts for depositions and trials.
  • Maintain detailed client files and ensure all case information is updated regularly.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in construction litigation or a similar role.
  • Active admission to the Florida State Bar.
  • Judicial clerkship experience or strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to meet billing goals and maintain productivity standards.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
