Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with expertise in intellectual property litigation who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the chance to contribute to high-profile cases and work closely with a collaborative team of legal professionals.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee intellectual property litigation cases from start to finish, including briefing and motions practice
  • Take and defend depositions, collaborate with experts, and engage in PTAB or trial proceedings
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates, paralegals, and other legal staff
  • Provide strategic advice on case management and assist with client communications
  • Conduct legal research and draft clear, concise reports, briefs, and pleadings
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other dispute-resolution forums

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IP litigation
  • Strong background in briefing, motions practice, depositions, and trial proceedings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases and supervise junior legal staff
  • Proficiency with patent law and related legal procedures
  • Must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina or have the ability to obtain licensure promptly

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in South Carolina or in the process of becoming licensed
  • Admission to the USPTO is a plus for candidates with an engineering background
