Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Melville, NY is seeking an Associate Attorney with expertise in foreclosure law. The position offers flexibility, combining in-office and remote work. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a range of foreclosure-related legal tasks, including drafting pleadings, attending settlement conferences, and advising clients on legal strategies. Duties:

  • Draft and review foreclosure-related motions, including Summons and Complaints, Orders of Reference, Motions for Summary Judgment, and Judgments of Foreclosure and Sale.
  • Attend hearings and mediation appearances on behalf of the firm’s clients.
  • Analyze cases and provide legal guidance to clients regarding potential strategies.
  • Prepare court pleadings, status letters, denial letters, and other written communications.
  • Collaborate with the Supervising Foreclosure Attorney, Business Unit, and Per Diem Appearance Counsel.
  • Offer legal directives and support to clients as needed.
  • Manage escalated cases, including overseeing client systems.
  • Coordinate appearances between bank representatives and clients.
  • Travel as needed for client-related matters.

Requirements:

  • An active member of the New York Bar and in good standing with all necessary licenses.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of foreclosure experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • A proactive, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes in work demands.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
