Job Title: Remote Immigration Attorney
Job Location: San Juan, PR

Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal guidance on immigration matters, including presenting strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
  • Handle a diverse caseload and manage the corresponding legal documentation and case strategies
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at immigration detention centers
  • Prepare various immigration applications, such as removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review and revise immigration packets, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law updates
  • Consult with potential clients to evaluate their needs and develop appropriate legal strategies
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before USCIS or in court
  • Draft legal briefs and provide comprehensive legal analysis to assist clients in achieving case success

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Proven track record of effectively managing and advancing legal cases
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on client service and team collaboration
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is advantageous

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Experience in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and USCIS applications
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases with attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
