Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join a collaborative team in Garland, TX. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work independently while being supported by a dedicated team. The role primarily involves reviewing and preparing legal documents, ensuring attention to detail, and interacting with clients and courts. Duties:

• Review lawsuits and pleadings for legal sufficiency.
• Monitor and attend initial dismissal hearings (in person or virtual).
• Draft legal documents related to bankruptcy proceedings.
• Handle petitions and other legal filings.
• Provide support for client and court interactions as needed.
• Collaborate with team members during monthly meetings and work independently on assigned tasks.
• Ensure attention to detail in all legal documentation.
• Assist in general legal tasks to support the smooth operation of the firm.

Requirements:

• Valid Texas Bar License (Required).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
• Enthusiasm for ensuring legal documents are accurate and complete.
• Strong communication skills for client and court interactions.
• Interest in learning more about litigation and legal processes.
• Experience with legal software, especially Needles, is a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, though not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Texas State Bar and in good standing.

Skills:

• Proficient in reviewing and drafting legal documents.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills for court and client interactions.
• Familiarity with Needles Software (preferred but not required).
• Bilingual in Spanish is an asset.
