A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a highly skilled Labor and Employment Career Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in defending employers in employment-related litigation, including single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation cases, and ERISA litigation. This role requires a blend of excellent legal expertise, communication skills, and the ability to manage complex cases effectively. The position will involve occasional in-office presence for meetings, depositions, and court appearances.

Duties:

  • Defend employers in single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases.
  • Represent clients in ERISA litigation.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and legal arguments.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring all deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting labor and employment practices.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in employment litigation matters.
  • Proven track record of defending employers in employment actions before agencies and courts.
  • Excellent academic background with a strong understanding of labor and employment law.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex cases and meeting deadlines.
  • Licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of Georgia (or ability to obtain admission).

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and ERISA litigation.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
