Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Personal Injury team. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills and progressive civil litigation experience, including motions briefing, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and trial or arbitration experience in personal injury litigation. The attorney will work closely with senior attorneys, associates, and legal staff to develop case management strategies for complex legal issues. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain second-chair trial experience while handling a varied caseload.

Location:

Duties:

  • Assist in the management of personal injury litigation cases.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Argue motions in court and attend hearings.
  • Prepare for and participate in trials and arbitrations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior associates and legal staff.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress.

Requirements:

  • 0 to 4 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on personal injury.
  • Experience in motions practice, depositions, and trial or arbitration proceedings.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Colorado State Bar (or eligibility to obtain).

Skills:

  • Civil litigation experience, particularly in personal injury law.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Strong deposition and trial preparation skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
