Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis on energy regulatory issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, briefs, and regulatory filings.
  • Advise clients on compliance with energy regulations and assist in developing regulatory strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current with changes in energy regulations and industry trends.
  • Participate in negotiations and hearings on behalf of clients.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on energy-related projects and transactions.
  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to the development of the firm’s regulatory practice.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of legal experience with a focus on energy regulatory matters.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in FERC-related issues.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission.
