A law firm in Dublin, OH is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join their team. This role involves managing documentation in cases related to consumer debt, including drafting and reviewing pleadings, compliance checklists, and client surveys. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review drafted pleadings for suits, default judgments, and garnishments, ensuring accuracy and attorney e-signature.
  • Complete compliance checklists for each document type reviewed to record meaningful attorney involvement and adhere to client requirements.
  • Proactively identify areas of concern, escalating issues as needed for resolution.
  • Draft new suit documents to accommodate placements of additional debt types from clients.
  • Complete client surveys related to Ohio Statutes, Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure, and Ohio Small Claims Rules.
  • Assist legal support staff by providing directives to facilitate the legal/litigation process.
  • Occasionally handle mediations, case management conferences, trials, or pre-trials to cover all firm appearances as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
  • Additional licensing in other states (MO, IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, NV) is a plus.
  • Experienced and newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a high-volume caseload.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio (required).
  • Additional state bar licenses are a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in documentation review and compliance.
  • Strong drafting and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
