Job Overview: A law firm in Spokane, WA, is seeking an experienced Liquor Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients in the alcohol, beverage, and cannabis industries, focusing on licensing, trade practice compliance, distribution, contracts, and dispute resolution. This role requires collaboration with and management of a team of attorneys across the Firm’s offices. Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on matters related to alcohol, beverage, and cannabis industries.
  • Handle licensing, trade practice compliance, distribution issues, contracts, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with and help manage a team of attorneys across various offices.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, providing exceptional client service.
  • Contribute to the firm’s efforts in achieving shared success through teamwork.
  • Engage in business development and maintain a strong client base.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and legal developments related to liquor law.
  • Assist in managing significant individual responsibilities while supporting team objectives.

Requirements:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience handling liquor-related legal matters.
  • Strong academic credentials with excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Proven client-service approach with exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse team and build strong team dynamics.
  • Experience with FDA regulations is a plus.
  • Partial book of business is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.

Skills:

  • Expertise in liquor law and related regulatory issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of attorneys.
