A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong academic background, significant law firm or clerkship experience, and exceptional problem-solving, writing, and communication skills. The position requires a deep understanding of financial services litigation, including commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability. The successful candidate will have demonstrated courtroom experience, including taking and defending depositions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in complex financial services litigation, focusing on commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
  • Handle all phases of litigation from case inception through trial, including drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct and manage discovery, including taking and defending depositions, preparing and responding to interrogatories, and managing document production.
  • Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and arbitration.
  • Perform detailed legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client advisories.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement case strategies and legal solutions.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure adherence to deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Colorado State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience or significant clerkship experience with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
  • Proven experience in handling courtroom procedures, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Strong academic credentials and a track record of excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
