Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including felonies, misdemeanors, DUI/DWI, drug offenses, and white-collar crimes.
  • Manage all aspects of case preparation, from plea bargains to pre-trial motions, trials, and sentencing.
  • Appear as first-chair counsel in trials, handling at least five criminal trials independently.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients and maintain clear, empathetic communication throughout the legal process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal issues and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and ensure compliance with Colorado Rules of Evidence & Procedure.
  • Negotiate favorable plea agreements and represent clients in court with a high degree of professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado.
  • Minimum of 7 years of criminal law experience, including courtroom and trial experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Colorado criminal law, including the Colorado Rules of Evidence & Procedure.
  • Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure knowledge is a plus.
  • Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload and work independently.
  • Proven first-chair trial experience with at least five trials completed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Colorado.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and courtroom skills, with a focus on criminal defense.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
